This is one of my personal favorites! Sichuan Spicy Peanuts are a beloved snack from the Sichuan province of China, known for their irresistible combination of heat, crunch, and savory goodness. The key to Sichuan Spicy Peanuts lies in the use of Sichuan peppercorns, which are not actually pepper, but the dried husks of the prickly ash tree. These peppercorns deliver a unique sensation called "mala"—a mouth-numbing, tingling feeling that pairs beautifully with the fiery heat of the dried chilies that are also used in this recipe. Together, they create a flavor profile that is spicy, aromatic, and slightly addictive.
